Top track is mono, L-R panner automation is shown. Each region is 8 frames (at 30fps=260ms) The audio file is silence, audio is actually from a 20kHz Sig Gen plugin Bottom stereo track is recorded from the stereo sub-buss the panner feeds into. More automation breakpoints means smoother panning.

PT 10.3 (mac) crossfades display and audio result
Demostration of "equal power" and "equal volume" corssfades in two versions of pro tools, 10.3 and 12.6. The wavefore appearance changed after version10.3 but the audible result is identical. The upper screengrab is from 10.3, showing croosfades of both types with 20k sinetones (correlated at cross points) as well as pink noise (de-correlated at cross points). The bottom track is the audio produced by version 12.6, the track just above it is the audio produced by version 10.3. Not only do the audio results appear equal, when the polarity of one is inverted, the two will completely cancel each other, proving they are identical.
